Salem Deputy Police Chief accepts job as Belmont’s new Police Chief


SALEM, NH

After 24 years of dedication and distinguished service to the Town of Salem, Deputy Police Chief Shane Smith is moving on.

Deputy Chief, who’s family has served the Town of Salem in law enforcement for 60 years, has accepted a job with the Town of Belmont to lead their Police Department.

The Belmont Select Board unanimously approved of his hiring – his first day as Chief of Police in Belmont is Monday, May 4th
