Fire fighters in Sandown responded Sunday night to a propane tank leak at a home on Wells Village Road.

Officials reported that the homeowners called the gas company to report a propane leak, and the gas company encouraged them to call the fire department.

Upon arrival, crews found a 500-gallon propane tank leaking from the bottom.  They then conducted a large-scale water operation to mitigate the hazard using over 30,000 gallons of water.

The propane company arrived and was able to stop the leak.  No injuries were reported.
