Amherst man facing charges of Assault and Attempted Murder

MANCHESTER, N.H.- Authorities say an Amherst man is facing more than half a dozen felony charges including attempted murder.

According to court documents Jonathan Santiago, 40, is facing seven felony counts ranging from attempted murder, first-degree assault with a firearm, arson, and multiple counts of felony criminal mischief in connection with two separate incidents last year.

As authorities allege the Santiago set a fire on or about August 28, 2025, in Manchester; while the second set of indictments accuses Santiago of shooting an individual with the purpose of committing murder

If convicted Santiago could face up to 40 years in prison
