MANCHESTER, N.H.- New Hampshire’s Attorney General has filed an emergency request with the US Supreme Court with the hope of preventing Student IDs from being accepted at the polls in the upcoming midterm election.

In it’s request John Formella’s office asked that a recent 2-1 ruling reached earlier this week by a federal appeals court be tossed out.

Out of Wednesday’s decision by the lower court Student IDs would be among the acceptable form of identification that could be used to help prove someone’s identity, however the decision explicitly says those who use their student IDs can only use in conjunction with another acceptable form of identification.

State officials meanwhile claim that Election workers have not been properly trained to accept student IDs at the polls.
