Nine communities respond to Fire in Groton


GROTON, N.H.- Firefighters over the weekend responded to a 2-alarm-fire in a residence that was converted from a barn.

Sunday morning Fire crews arrived on scene at 180 Martian’s Pond Road and were greeted by heavy flames and then were informed that two individuals were still inside, however First responders were able to evacuate everyone safely.

Officials note that while no firefighters or any of the residence inside were injured several family pets were unaccounted for.

Nine other fire departments arrived to provide mutual aid

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
