New Hampshire police departments made 51 immigration arrests in the past year

CONCORD, NH –

New data indicates NH Police Departments have made 51 immigration arrests over the past year.  New Hampshire is the only New England State with local police departments participating in the task force model of the 287(g) program, which deputizes local officers to carry out federal immigration enforcement, including serving warrants and detaining people suspected of being in the country without authorization.

Top-ranking Republicans in the Granite State have encouraged closer collaboration with ICE. Gov Ayotte signed two laws last year that prohibited municipalities from limiting cooperation with federal immigration authorities.
