MANCHESTER, NH

Manchester Police and Fire were called to 55 South Main Street around 1:30 Sunday afternoon after a man was spotted sitting outside on an open window ledge 11 stories high.

Police officers made contact with the man and began negotiations in order to keep calm him and engaged.

According to officials there was a challenge attempting to access the apartment due to makeshift barricades placed inside the unit.

Once the ladder team was locked into position, entry teams entered the apartment, reached the window, and safely pulled the man back inside to safety.

The man was not injured.  Police have not released his identity or what motivated him to climb out on the window ledge.
