MANCHESTER, N.H.- A Laconia man is facing charges for assaulting a member of Turning Point USA outside the Woodland Heights polling location Tuesday afternoon.

According to Police Stephen Redic,70, was arrested Wednesday and charged with misdemeanor-level simple assault and disorderly conduct for walking up to the young man working for the conservative advocacy group, reading a poem out loud about rich people and then got into an argument with the unidentified induvial and then slapped him.

Once on scene Police spoke to both the victim and multiple witnesses who were able to offer video evidence of the assault, which has since made its way onto social media.

Following his arrested Redic says the video only offers one side of the story, but called his actions inexcusable, and apologized.
