MANCHESTER, N.H.- A jury has ruled in favor of the state and the acquisition of land for the Exit 4A project along I-93, calling it necessary and reasonable.

Jurors deliberated for an hour Tuesday following a four-day trial in the eminent domain case brought by Steven Trefethen, owner of 101 Franklin Derry LLC and S&L Elm Street Holdings LLC who challenged the acquisitions and said that the project serves a private development, to the disadvantage of both him and the Town of Derry.

The state countered and said the project solves longstanding traffic issues in that area and said that any benefit to the development would be incidental.

Following this decision the project could be completed by the year 2032.
