CONCORD, N.H.– House Speaker Sherman Packard is setting the record straight following reports he’s stepping down from his post at the end of this current term.
Speaking with the Union Leader Packard dispelled a recent report that he would be stepping away from his position telling the paper, “Reports of my demise have been greatly exaggerated. I have not made any announcement about my future plans, including whether I will seek another term as Speaker. When I make a decision, I will be sure to let people know.”
This latest develop comes as the speaker has a week left to file for reelection.
Concerns over whether or not the Packard would in fact run again come after In-depth NH filed a report this past Thursday in which they mentioned that he had said he would not.
