Suspicious person prompts secure campus at Bedford schools

Tense moments in Bedford yesterday afternoon as schools went into secure campus status after a report of a possibly armed person in the area of Gault Road. Bedford police say they were alerted at 1:30 and were assisted by Manchester police with a drone and the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office. The person was located shortly before 3 and was carrying a pellet gun though authorities say they were cooperative. Their identity has not been released.
