Strafford County Sheriff Mark Brave has been arrested on several felony charges, including theft and perjury, after investigators said he lied about trips he took so he could get reimbursed for them. The state Attorney General said Thursday that Brave allegedly stole about $19,000 by making fraudulent justifications for reimbursements for airfare, hotel stays, dinners and personal expenses during trips that included meetups with romantic partners. Brave denied all the allegations made against him and said he plans to remain in office while fighting the charges.
