New Hampshire Senators Jeanne Shaheen and Maggie Hassan helped lead negotiations on a bipartisan deal to reopen the federal government. Shaheen, Hassan and Maine Senator Angus King worked on the agreement on behalf of Democrats. The deal includes funding the government through Jan. 30, rehiring federal employees, and ensuring food stamps are funded through fiscal year 2026. The bill will now return to the House before heading to President Donald Trump.
