Former YDC employee found not guilty on 3 charges: no verdict on 5

A jury Wednesday found a former employee of the Youth Development Center not guilty of three of the sexual assault charges he was facing, while no verdict was reached on five others. Stephen Murphy was facing eight charges of aggravated felonious sexual assault. The Attorney General’s Office said it plans to retry Murphy on the charges in which no decision was reached. This was the second trial for Murphy. His first ended in a mistrial earlier this year.
