As the federal government shutdown continues, there are growing concerns over what will happen to critical food-assistance programs. New Hampshire officials said the state has secured additional funding from the Department of Agriculture to keep the Women, Infants and Children program, or WIC, going until at least November 7th. Ayotte said the state will provide additional information on backup plans for SNAP, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, in the coming days.
