Area firefighters respond to nearly a dozen brush fires


NEWPORT, N.H. – Fire officials are warning residents of a rise in brush fires.

Firefighters across the Granite State battled nearly a dozen brush fires Sunday, after blazes were reported in a number of towns.

According to officials Fire crews responded to calls for fires in Derry, Auburn, Seabrook and Hudson.

Fire officials also note that a large 2-alarm brush fire in Newport saw crews from Sunapee and a number of other departments respond in support.
