MANCHESTER, N.H.- New Hampshire’s only death row inmate is waiting to hear if the State Supreme Court will change his sentence.

Michael Addision and his lawyer contend his sentence goes against the state’s current contemporary values, after it abolished the death penalty in 2019.

State officials have argued that the change is statue doesn’t apply to previous causes.

Addison remains the state’s only death row inmate after being convicted of shooting and killing Manchester Police officer Michael Briggs back in 2006.
